The Sushrut Samhita grew from the Dhanvantari school of surgeons. It covers surgical equipment, classification of abscesses, burns, fractures, wounds, amputation, plastic surgery, and rectal surgery. It includes anatomical discussions of bones, joints, nerves, organs, blood vessels, and major human systems.
